The China Corporation has been sponsoring the building of fraternal sanitation clinics since 2006, and it carried out a donation event on the 16th of April after announcing its plans for building sanitation clinics in Chongqing, Shanxi, Gansu, and Guizhou this year.
The donation event held in Chongqing-si Tung Chuen Jin Tsuzu chon was attended by the directors of the China Corporation including Mr. Kim Sang Sik (the vice chief officer for the sales department) as well as 30 other business partners within the vicinity. Other notable guests such as Hwang Si (the vice president of the Chongqing-si Panam-gu Red Cross Organization) and Liu Shen Guo (vice director of the Red Cross in China) were also present at the event.
Mr. Kim Sang Sik, vice chief officer for the sales department, noted that “Ceragem hopes it can offer some support for the medical projects in the western provinces, and we will continue to visit the sanitation clinics routinely so that they will have access to safer medical facilities.”
The Fraternal Sanitation Clinic Project was initiated by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation in 2005 to give poor people in impoverished areas access to medical care (a sanitation clinic will cost around 50,000 Yuan, and a sanitation hospital will cost around 200,000 Yuan).
