The official event of the 4th World Business Conference was held in Kunming located in Yunnan, China, for 5 days starting from January 29th to February 3rd. A total of 122 participants from 35 countries attended this year’s World Business Conference to agree to envision another successful year. This year’s event was especially important in that it introduced the business discussion by sector that intended to share business information and understanding of other regions.

 The event was kicked off with a welcome dinner on January 29th followed by Song Myung Joon’s introduction of each country’s participants, President Lee Hwang Sung’s speech, presentation of 2007’s business showings, award ceremony, a toast, and a photo shoot.

 In his speech, President Lee Hwan Sung delivered his words of “thanks to those who have dedicated to the company ever since its foundation 10 years back. Our key goals in 2008 are the ‘vitalization of the existing thermal heater businesses and the ‘exploration of new potential growth factors’. We must establish fine and practical plans on which we must focus in order to accomplish them.”

 The ‘2007 Pride of Ceragem’, which is an assessment of the past one year, was awarded for the individual sector and the corporate sector where Director of Europe Corporate Park Dong Yeol, Director of South Africa Corporate Kim Myung Sun, Director of Turkey Corporate Han In Shik, and Director of China Corporate Lee Sun Woo received the award.

 The Excellent Corporate Award was given out to the Mexico and Ukraine corporate as South Africa won the grand award. Corporate Manager Shin Kyun received the award plate and the Ceragem china from the Russia Corporate who won the title last year. Corporate Manager Shin Kyun said that “this award wouldn’t have been here without the efforts sacrificed by our corporate family. I would like to dedicate this award to Lim Hyung Jin at the headquarters who’s in charge of our corporate and who has put in so much effort into it.”

During the second day, the department of planning and coordination, GBU, and marketing shared their vision through the ’07 Task Status and 08 Business Agenda’. Senior Manager Kim Young Chu of the department of planning and coordination presented his group business plans and Senior Manager Kim Jae Jin of GBU presented each country’s target goal saying that his goal in 2008 is to reach a total of 3,000 centers in 60 countries. The marketing department introduced the status on its new product development that had been underway since last year as well as detailed market strategy for each product. Other features included Hungary Director Park Dong Yeol’s experience sharing and Senior Director Kim Jae Jin’s presentation on ‘management and support policy of overseas corporate’.

The next day’s event featured discussion by business sectors. For this discussion, we formed 4 groups of corporate level units where we dealt with serious matters in depth.

The business participants enjoyed a series of tour and golf schedules from the afternoon of the 4th day until the last day of the event. The city of Kunming, a famed tourism city, offered great pleasure to those who visited the Suh-san-yong-moon, folk town, Seok-lim, and Gu-hyang Cave.

Everyone gathered to reminisce the past one year as they concluded the official event of the World Business Conference with a farewell dinner in the evening of February 2nd. The farewell dinner featured a folk dance performance, award ceremony of the golf tournament, and recreations. The attendants made two large circle rings, hug each other, and shared warm words as they went around in the circle changing partners.

The participants, who were overwhelmed with passion for success, went on board back to their countries and promised to meet again in 1 year time.
